Astrology, a holistic system for understanding the world and our place in it, has been revered and respected by many ancient cultures around the world. It is based on the idea that a meaningful correlation exists between the movements and cycles of the planets and life on earth - an idea summed up by the ancients as, "As above, so below."

An astrologer looks to the positions of the planets at a particular time and from a particular place to gain a sense of meaning for whatever is being born at that time. Astrology involves understanding both the mathematics of planetary cycles and the interpretative art of deriving meaning from the planetary symbols.
